Can a Christian Loose His/Her Salvation? Not if truly saved!
1. Salvation is a covenant that God will not break.
2. If good works could not save us, then how can bad works unsave us? Eph. 2:8-9
3. Verses supporting eternal security. So many! Jn. 3:16; 5:24; 6:4-7 Jn. 10:27-29 1 Jn. 5:11-14 Rom. 8:1, 28-29 Eph. 1:13-14; 4:30 1 Pe. 1:5
4. Verses that seem to suggest you can loose your salvation. So few. Hebr. 6:4-8 (Jews who were closely affiliated with the fellowship of the Christian church but never truly saved)
Hebr. 10:26-31 (someone who has received some beneficial moral influence through contact with Christians and the church)
5. The doctrine of the “Perseverance of the Saints” = all who are truly born again will persevere to the end. See Systematic Theology chapter 40. Jn. 6:38-40 Mt. 10:22 Jn. 8:31-32 Col. 1:22-23 Hebr. 3:14 Jn. 15:1-7
6. For some the issue is never being saved, even though professing salvation or claiming to be saved. “not everyone who says to me ….” Mt. 7:21-23 Mk. 4:16-17 Hebr. 12:7-11 (discipline of the Lord … illegitimate child vs. true son)
7. Satan can disguise himself as an angel of light. 2 Cor. 11:13-15
